How Do I Tie an Input High (Logic ‘1’) or
Low (Logic ‘0’) in FastChip?

To tie an input to a logical ‘1’ or ‘0’ in FastChip, just type in the value “vcc” or “gnd” respectively.  The signal names “vcc” and “gnd” are special reserved names within FastChip, as shown in Table 1.

Example of connections tied to "vcc" and "gnd".

Table 1.  FastChip Reserved Names for Logical High and Low.

gnd

‘0’, Low

You can also see these values in FastChip’s connection browser.

Click the magnifier icon () next to the signal port to invoke the connection browser.  Click the minus sign (-) to expand View Options.  Choose Flat View and check Show single-net bits.  The reserved names “gnd” and “vcc” are visible in the list.
